Final Fantasy X...

Started playing it today. Not sure how it's gonna progress(I've heard both good and bad things about it, and the whole "Sphere Grid" will take some getting used to), but the opening sequence when Sin attacks the game, was pretty cool.

I wasn't really a fan of Tidus' voice at first. I thought he sounded like a whiny, annoying punk. Then I realized that he's supposed to BE a whiny, annoying punk, so it all works out.

And upon looking through the booklet, I, being the voice actor fan that I am, noticed some names. John DiMaggio, Tara Strong, and as Tidus...James Arnold Taylor.

It was at this point that I began laughing hysterically.

For those of you who don't get the joke, James most visible current role is on Drawn Together where he plays...Wooldor! Small world, eh?

Oi, the things that happened today...

Okay, the good:

1 - Got my yearly bonus(around $700, before taxes)
2 - Bought a PS2 and will be shamelessly mining my buddy Demon-Fighter Ash's game collection this weekend.
3 - Finally picked up a copy of Hank Williams III's Straight To Hell. Waiting to listen to it.
4 - For my birthday,(29) I got Johnny Cash's American IV: The Man Comes Around and Roseanne Cash's Black Cadillac. Also a new DBZ DVD and a Ray Stevens collection. And a red velvet cake.


Now the bad...

1 - Sucked at Halo today. Not just me, but also my buddies(Sgt Diehard and SergeantSnatch). Quit early before I hurled controller through window.
2 - Bought new DVD shelving unit to contain more DVD's, plus space for my XBox/PS2 games. Removed DVD's from old unit, moved old unit, put new unit in, began to arrange DVD's...only to realize that the new unit is one of those fucking 'mixed' units with predetermined shelf spacing so that you can conveniantly store your CD's and DVD's in the same unit. Well, fuck you, Sauder furniture, because I for one don't store my CD's and DVD's in the same area. So I then pull out the few DVD's I've put in it, move the new unit out, put the old one back in, and restock it with all the DVD's. So now I've got this unit that's useless to me, but my buddy Sgt Diehard agreed to buy it for like $10, so I'm only out $15. Whoooo. I guess I'm just going to have to fucking custom build a shelving system myself. This sucks.
3 - The aforementioned clusterfuck takes over an hour. Which means it's now a quarter to 12 and I'm just now getting online. And I still haven't even set up my PS2(and I just realized I have to go to the hardware store and get a shelf cut for it to sit on because the old shelf that my Playstation sits on is cut incorrectly, damn it).
4 - Called up my dentist to pay them off before they sue me, only to find out I don't owe the $300 my letter said I did; I owe them almost $500. So between my PS2 and the dentist's bill, there goes my entire fucking bonus.

Shit.

New DVD's...

My quest to own everything DCAU(DC Animated Universe) continues apace. Last night, they released and I bought Batman Beyond Season 1 and Justice League Season 1. Keep 'em coming, guys.

Yeah, I got the first season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine this morning.

A reprieve from one of the two certain things...

Yeah, got my Fed tax refund. So now, it's time to go on one DVD spree, then call it quits for a while.

Paid...

Got paid. Time to pay bills.

Thank God for payday...

Yeah, I'll get paid tonight about 1 a.m., so I'm probably gonna head down to my buddy Buck's and play Halo 2.

Compy repair...

Yeah, my buddy Sgt Diehard's laptop was frotzed, so I d/l'ed the neccessary drivers and now it's working. Hoo-rah!

Work work work...

Yeah, so my buddy/boss SergeantSnatch tells me he needs me to work this weekend, then I'll have Tuesday/Wednesday off, so say OK. Well, then the assistant manager tells me that Sarge doesn't know what he's talking about, and not to come in last night. I say OK. I call Sarge and leave a message on his voicemail telling him if he wants me to come in, to call me. I then turn on the ringer on my house phone and set my cell to Loud.

Well, I stay up all day and night, and crash about 9. Sarge calls me up at 11, wondering if I'm coming in to work. I explain about what manager said, and he tells me that manager was, in fact, wrong; but when I tell him I haven't had much sleep, he tells me to come in about 4. So I do, and now I'm working tonight again, and the whole thing was just very confusing.

Anyhow...

Yeah, not really much to write about. Started a new game of Knights of The Old Republic the other day, and also picked up Lego Star Wars. Fun little game, but I'd forgotten what a headache finding the minikit pieces(and the frickin' podracing level) could be. Still, it'll be worth it once I unlock Lego Darth Sidious.

Damn XBox Live...

Yeah, their network or something was down for part of this morning, so I didn't actually get on until 11, and by then I was too tired to do more than play a few games.
