I can see the lights in the distance...
And they're the street lights in front of Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville, NC. Why do I see these lights? Quite simple, really.
Because one of my all-time favorite musicians and singers, Celtic/World artist Loreena McKennitt is going on tour for the first time in 9 years, and Asheville is one of the stops.
I couldn't help myself, I let out a little "Whoo!" when I got the email from Quinlan Road. What makes it even better are the following things.
1 - It's in April, so that's plenty of time to ask off of work. Which I have already done and been approved for; 2 - It's only 2 hours from mi casa; and 3 - dead-center front row seats are only $50! YAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To elaborate from the previous post: I found Soul Caliber III. It was somewhere it shouldn't have been.
Got...lessee. Got the season 1 re-re-rerelease of Dragonball Z(I swear to God, this better be the last version). Picked up the second-to-last Loeb Superman/Batman arc(Absolute Power) and Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". While Miller can be a little over the top sometimes back then(and now even more so - the "I'm the goddamn Batman" line jumps instantly to mind), it was really very good. Also got the 10th volume of Dr. Slump and the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories manga adaptation, as there was no way I was buying a DS just for one game.
Also started Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days, which is quite a good read so far. I also got all four volumes of Anneā¢Freaks and liked it. Especially a couple of the plot twists that I didn't see coming(one exceptionally disturbing one) and the way that Yua Kotegawa draws Anna when she's in her homicidal states is, um, freaky: she does this unquantifiable something to Anna that makes her eyes just totally blank. Brrr....
Got through season 2 of Justice League and then started on season 1 of Batman Beyond. It's cool, cause it's been so long since I saw these that it's almost like watching them for the first time.
AND, I found out that Squeenix lied to me. They claim that FFXI won't run with any Radeon card below a 9000 series, and since I only had an 8500, I borrowed an old GeForce 2 from a buddy. Then I decided that I'd rather have my capture capabilities back, and put my 8500 back in until I could upgrade to the 9600 in a few months. Just to get all the PlayOnline and FFXI updates, I logged in yesterday, and guess what? My Radeon 8500 runs FFXI just fine. Lying assholes.;) So now I can get back into it and perhaps finally get my White Mage past level 20(as he's been in limbo at 18 for like five months)
When I get my taxes back(or my store bonus, whichever comes first), I'm getting a 360, Gears of War, Perfect Dark Zero and probably a couple others. Still debating on whether to have a chrome faceplate and hardware or to just go with a plain plate and paint it black.
Hmm...can't think of anything else, so that must mean it's time for bed.
