Musings...
I was just listening to Tool's "Prison Sex", and I remembered the video. Strange how a song about child molestation that was disturbing enough on its own was rendered downright horrific by the stop-motion puppetry and animation of Adam Jones. Although there was obviously no way they could have done something with that subject matter in live-action or cartoon format, the puppet angle lent the entire feel a sickening air that suited the subject matter perfectly.
Lesse, what else...
Rewired my HT for S-Video. I now have the following setup:
XBox into Input 1 of my Panasonic DVR/DVD Burner; Playstation and N64 into Input 3 of the DVR; DVR S-Video output to RCA 4-port S-Video switcher; Sony DVD player S-Video output to RCA 4-port S-Video Switcher; RCA 4-port S-Video switcher output to TV S-Video in.
Only thing is, having the XBox on S-Video output put interference in the signal, possibly to the crappy Mad Catz S-Video cord I was using. So now the game systems go into the DVR with composite video input, but are S-Video outed to the TV. And it seems like even that gave the signal a boost.
My entire HT includes the following:
Sony 5.1 Receiver
Panasonic DVR/DVD-Burner
Sony DVD player
Sony 5-Disc carousel CD player
XBox
N64
Sony Playstation
SNES
PC
Jensen L/R speakers
KLH L/R speakers
JBL center speaker
XBox into DVR composite/left/right Input 1; N64/SNES/Playstation into composite/left/right Input 3 via 3 2-to-1 Y adapters(N64 & SNES share the same connector); DVR S-Video Output 1 into RCA 4-port S-Video switcher; DVR left/right Output 1(shared) to Reciever Video In left/right.
DVD S-Video output into RCA 4-port switcher; DVD left/right output to Reciever TV/SAT In left/right.
RCA 4-port switcher(with DVR & DVD feeds) into TV S-Video in.
CD player left/right output to Reciever CD left/right.
PC left/right output to Reciever MD/TAPE in left/right
Reciever A Circuit output to Jensen 60-watt speakers(HT speakers).
Reciever B Circuit output to KLH 15-watt speakers(PC speakers).
And now, I'm bored, so it's off to bed.
